Tales of the Orient: The Rising Sun, is a match-3 game, developed and published by Green Sauce Games.
[Please note that most of the features that are listed here are only available on Steam’s version of the game.]
I want to mentioned that the visuals for this game is nicely done. The visuals can be adjusted in the option menu.
I want to mentioned that the audio for this game is well done even its simplistic and somewhat repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the option menu as well.
There are two difficulty modes to choose from: Challenge and Relax. Challenge mode there are a set of limited moves for all the levels. Relax mode there are unlimited moves for all the levels.
There are three different types of match-3: “Chain,” “Group” and “Swap.” In this game, it features all three types; they be only swapped at the beginning of the level.
The game’s objective is rather simple, which is to make a match 3 or more tokens to clear the level; there are special power ups to help complete the level faster.
Building the first four structures will unlocked the four power ups. The power ups will need to be recharged after each use by matching the token that has been assigned to them.
The shuffle function is for mixing up the tokens to create more matches. The shuffle meter needs to be recharged after each used. The recharge rate for the shuffle meter is rather slow.
The board itself can be rotated either clockwise or counter-clockwise by clicking on the arrows.
The money that is earned from completing each of the levels goes towards rebuilding building structures to unlock power ups.
There are sixteen different achievements. But each of these achievements has certain requirements before they can be unlocked.
There are total of seven different trading cards. You only get the four of those cards from the game. There are several ways to get the rest of the trading card: Purchased from Steam’s Market; Trade with friends; Booster Packs and it’s Booster Pack Creator.
Final thoughts, I’ve found this game enjoyable to certain extend. The replay value for this game is low. I would recommend this game but not at the full price.
